Senior Infrastructure Architect

Department: Circle K Tech Inc.

Location: Kanata, Ontario

Type of employment: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week

Hybrid mode: 3 days at the office and 2 days remotely

Circle K Tech is the North American Innovation Centre for Circle K/Couche-Tard. Utilizing the latest technologies in embedded design, networking and cloud services, we strive to improve customer experience by adding videos and graphics to the pump screens. We are a highly experienced award-winning team of tech innovators.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director, within our Circle K Tech Inc. team, the Senior Infrastructure Architect will define the scope and vision for technical plans and roadmaps that deliver customized solutions using Microsoft Azure.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Here are just a few ways that you’ll help make journeys better:

  • Manage pipelines and deployments

  • Experience working with infrastructure and tools

  • Knowledgeable with KAFKA event handling system for Azure, particularly ELK and data lakes

  • Qualify and define an architectural approach for implementing scalable microservices

    • Responsible for proposing, designing, and running proof of concepts then scaling
  • Implement improvements and maintain the infrastructure on MS Azure

  • Create tools and test environments to simulate thousands of endpoints

  • Responsible for cost efficiency and cost optimization of cloud hosted solutions

  • Contribute to design and end user documentation

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

    • Minimum bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science • In-depth understanding of Azure and data analytics and reporting technologies (ELK)
  • 5+ years’ experience as an application architect in cloud services

  • Experience/proficiency in CI/CD processes and DevOps

  • 5+ years’ experience in complex technical and deployment projects, involving scalable solutions

  • Familiar with Agile and DevOps practices (automated deployments and infrastructure as code)

  • Experience in managing Linux systems, virtual machines, and containers (Docker and Kubernetes)

  • Proven innovative approaches to projects

  • Excellent analytical, abstract thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • 5 years’ experience working on small teams

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently

  • Ability to resolve problems with minimal direction
