Here’s the Scoop - Summary:

We are looking for a solution orientated maintenance - Electrician to join our team. This position works out of our production facility located in Acheson, Alberta, and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position is right for you if you enjoy problem-solving, a high-paced environment in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. It goes without saying, this is an integral role.

Location: Acheson, Alberta

Shift: Monday to Friday, rotating between AM / PM

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Perform department PMs, including but not limited to, cleaning, lubricating, and completing other routine maintenance work.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment as directed.
  • Troubleshoot machine and production problems by diagnosing defects in equipment.
  • Efficiently set up, inspect, and shut down production-related equipment when required to do so.
  • Perform regularly scheduled checks of electrical units to ensure they are functioning properly
  • Maintain an accurate and complete log of electrical repair and maintenance work activities.
  • Comply with all safety policies, procedures & applicable SOPs, and with all regulations relating to equipment and chemical approvals for a food manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure house-keeping requirements are met within work areas and maintenance shop.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry technologies and codes.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor outside of electrical scope.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required or assigned.

What are we looking for?

  • Electrician (journeyperson) with previous maintenance experience working in a manufacturing or industrial based environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of variable frequency drives (VFD) and programmable logic controller (PLC) is considered an asset.
  • Competent in the use of basic computer programs and experienced with programming PLC, DeviceNet, and Ethernet.
  • Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol, Fit-to-Work test & Criminal Record Check
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday on a rotating work schedule and the occasional week-end shift.
