THE OPPORTUNITY
Aritzia is growing, and our Retail Technology team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to show your passion for delivering everyday luxury experiences to Aritzia’s clients by leveraging technology to meet and exceed the vision and mission of the business. As the Vice President, Retail Technology, you will oversee the design, development, implementation, and support of Aritzia’s store systems. This role will be a critical part of the cross functional technical leadership team, including Business Applications, cloud & infrastructure and platform engineering and an equally critical part of the cross functional Retail leadership team including Store Operations, Omni, Merchandising, Marketing and Data & Analytics. THE ROLE
As the Vice President, Retail Technology, you will lead the team to:
- Establish the vision, mission, and strategy for Retail Technology at Aritzia, prioritizing the right opportunities at the right time.
- Maximize the value of Retail Technology solutions for our customers & business.
- Spearhead all technical facets of Aritzia's Retail initiatives.
- Lead the architecture, design, and engineering of new capabilities across different systems and applications, ensuring technical excellence, versatility, security, resiliency, and scalability to deliver excellent end-user experiences.
- Maintain world-class Retail solutions through reliability engineering, problem management, service escalation support and proactive maintenance practices
- Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The Vice President, Retail Technology has:
- Proven and best-in-class skills, education, experience and/or applicable certifications including:
- Expert understanding of software & hardware delivery lifecycle with packaged software and in-house developed software
- Expert level skills and proven experience managing large-scale digital Retail solutions including point of sale and payment solutions
- Extensive skills related to cloud infrastructure, networks, end-user technologies, architecture, and platform engineering technologies
- Extensive understanding of agile methodology in an enterprise environment (SAFE agile experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of order management systems
- Strong understanding of enterprise operational practices including SRE, automation, observability & alerting)
- Comfortable deep diving into technical specifics to ensure the highest quality solutions
- Effective communication skills with the ability to translate complex and technical information into business terms
- In-depth understanding of capital and operational budget planning and management
- Ability to prioritize and focus in a dynamic environment
- A commitment to learn, apply, champion, and enrich Aritzia's Values, Business and People Leadership principles
- The skills to collaborate strategically with cross-functional partners in the pursuit of shared business outcomes
- The ability to set clear objectives and design a strategy that inspires the team
