Cook
Classification and Status: OPSEU, Permanent Full-Time Hourly Wage: $21.61-$23.09

Fairvern has been serving seniors with care and dignity in our community for almost 40 years. Our cozy and
comfortable home encompasses two resident home areas and a wonderful property on the river in Huntsville
with plenty of outdoor spaces to roam about.


The Opportunity

Under the general direction of the Manager of Support Services, performs all aspects of meal preparation
within the Home to meet nutrition needs of Residents and to ensure the safe effective and efficient
preparation of food for the residents consistent with the Mission Statement of Fairvern department Policies
and Procedures, the Nursing Homes Act and other applicable regulations and guidelines.


What You Will Do:
  • Observe and respect the Resident’s rights, dignity
and privacy; encourages independence.
  • Assist in the development of menus and
corresponding production schedules.
  • Involved in recipe testing and the development of

standardized recipes.

What You Will Need:
  • Secondary School graduation diploma
  • Chef training or culinary management

diploma or certificate, or certificate of
qualification in the trade of Cook or
Institutional Cook

  • Food Service Worker certification an
asset
  • Successful completion of food handler
training course and maintenance
